NDC to hold parliamentary primaries for 39 constituencies on October 19

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on October 19, 2019 conduct its parliamentary primaries for the remaining thirty-nine (39) constituencies that were put on hold.

This follows previous parliamentary elections held in some constituencies across the country.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, copied to the media, he said "the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress announces the notice of elections for the conduct of Parliamentary Primary elections in 39 Constituencies, in accordance with Article 41(1) of the NDC Constitution".

"Nominations will open for 3 days from Monday, 16th September to Thursday, 19th September 2019", the statement added.

According to the statement, filing of nominations would start from Tuesday, September 24, 2019 to Wednesday, September 25, 2019.

It said the elections would take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 concurrently.

Some of the Constituencies are; Fomena, Manhyia South, Ahafo Ano South, Kwadaso in Ashanti Region, New Juabeng South, Akwatia, Aburi all in Eastern Region, Efutu, Awutu Senya East in Central Region, and Amenfi East, Esikado Ketan in Western Region.

The statement concluded that "all stakeholders and interested persons should take note and comply accordingly".

Parliamentary nomination opens in 39 constituencies

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress announces the notice of elections for the conduct of Parliamentary Primary elections in 39 Constituencies, in accordance with Article 41(1) of the NDC Constitution.

Nominations will open for 3 days from Monday, 16th September to Thursday, 19th September, 2019.

The following dates shall also apply for the other electoral activities on the calendar:

• Filing of Nominations – Tuesday, 24th September to Wednesday, 25th September, 2019

1. Vetting of Aspirants – Friday, 27th September to Saturday, 28th September, 2019

2. Elections – Saturday, 19th October, 2019

The 39 Constituencies are;

Ashanti Region

Fomena; Odotobri; Manhyia South; Nhyiaeso; Asokwa; Manhyia North; Tafo; Bantama; Atwima Mponua; Ahafo Ano South; Atwima Nwabiagya North; Atwima Kwanwoma; Afigya Kwabre South; Atwima Nwabiagya South; Adansi Asokwa; Mampong; Manso Nkwanta; Suame; Manso Adubea; Juaben; Afigya Sekyere East; Afigya Kwabre North; Kwadaso.

Eastern Region

Ofoase Ayirebi; New Juabeng South; Akwatia; Achiase; Akwuapem South; Akroso Asene Manso; Lower West Akim; Okere; New Juabeng North; Aburi.

Western Region

Esikado Ketan; Tarkwa Nsuaem; Amenfi East.

Central Region

Upper Denkyira West; Efutu; Awutu Senya East
