The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will launch its national campaign for the December general elections with a rally at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on Thursday, August 30.
President John Mahama, Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, the National Chairman, Mr. John Asiedu Nketiah, the General Secretary, and other leading members of the party would address the rally.
A statement signed by the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, in Kumasi said the event would start at about mid-day just after the confirmation of the party’s flag-bearer at the extraordinary national delegates’ congress at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, all is set for the congress with roads leading to the grounds adorned with the NDC’s black, green, red and white colors and portraits of President Mahama.
About 4,500 delegates from all constituencies across the country are expected to attend.
The party’s Regional Office at Asafo and the Regional Coordinating Council have become a beehive of activities as the various congress planning committees made sure everything goes on smoothly and without glitches.
Mr. Obimpeh said the region is ready for a successful congress.
