Tamale, March 10, GNA- Professor John Evans Atta Mills, flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the party would reward the three Northern Regions for their support and steadfast loyalty to the NDC over the years.

He said the people of the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions had remained firmly behind the NDC through its ups and downs and needed to be rewarded if the party returned to power.

Prof. Mills was addressing party supporters and sympathisers when he inaugurated the NDC constituency offices for Tamale North in Tamale on Sunday.

He promised the people that NDC would establish shea nuts processing factories with the capacity of producing 50,000 tons of the product each in the Northern, Upper East and West Regions if the NDC won power.

He said the Tamale Airport would be upgraded to international status while the hospital at Tamale would be rehabilitated to meet the standard of a teaching hospital.

Prof Mills said the NDC was a social democratic party which would fulfil its promises if voted to power.

Mr. Johnson Aseidu Nketia, General Secretary of the NDC, said the party had proved sceptics wrong, especially those who fruitlessly tried to use Prof Mills' health against him. He said the purported death of Prof Mills had turned out to be a blessing for the NDC since it was winning more support as people turned up in their numbers to catch a glimpse of the flag bearer everywhere he went.
