NDC urged to consolidate its front to secure victory in 2012

Ho, Dec. 20, GNA - Mr Ford Kamel, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry, has reminded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of its slim victory in the 2008 election and said the party should consolidate its fron= t to be able to win the 2012 election. He said the party must resolve its petty differences peacefully and ge= t back to 93winning ways."

Mr Kamel was addressing members of the Ho Polytechnic branch of Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC at a day's sess= ion dubbed: 93Setting the records straight part II," in Ho. "It is better to be in government with some discomfort than be in opposition with comfort," he said. Mr Kamel appealed to the rank and file of the party to support President John Atta Mills to state a strong case for the party's retentio= n in power inh the 2012 election.

"Everybody has his time, so President Mills must be given his time t= o serve the nation and retain the party in power in the next elections," he said Mr Omane Boamah, the Deputy Minister of Science and Environment, said the NDC had a lot to debate the New Patriotic Party on but had allowed internal bickering to dissipate its time, resources and energy. Mr Ludwig Hlordze, NDC National Youth Organizer, said the NDC was founded, built and sustained on internal discipline, commitment and voluntarism and appealed to its cadres to exhibit those qualities in their conducts.

"You must try to learn at the feet of your leaders and not be in a hurry to become leaders, so you can develop resilience to become better future leaders and not vehicles for agitators," he said. Mr Hanan Gundadow, the National TEIN Coordinator, advised young people in the party to be abreast with achievements of the party through the government to be able educate the public and defend the party against its detractors.
