Mr. Joseph Kwakye, a retired Public Servant has appealed to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unite all splinter “Nkrumahists” groups under the NDC to ensure a resounding victory in the December polls.

He said since the NDC was an “offspring” of the CPP, there was the need for it to bring all the Nkrumahist parties such as the CPP, the People’s National Convention (PNC), the Reformed Party, Eagle and the Progressive People’s Party into its fold.

Mr. Kwakye who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Abetifi, said this move would help ensure a convincing victory for the NDC in the December elections.

He said there were only two historical political parties- namely the United Party and the CPP, and every Ghanaian is linked to either of them. He called on all members of the CPP tradition to support the NDC to retain power in this year’s general election.

Mr. Kwakye said the splinter Nkrumahists parties have a number of intellectuals whose knowledge and experience could be tapped by the NDC to develop the country.

He urged Nkrumahists not to sit on the fence but unite and give their unflinching support to the NDC since with unity there could be total victory for the party to continue its development agenda for the country.**
