Kumasi, Jan 12, GNA - Mr Ebenezer Tei-Larbi, the National
Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Oforikrom
has reminded members of the party that the victory of the NDC did
not mean they should relax and that consolidating the party's gains
required hard work. He said governance of the country should not rest on the
shoulders of the leaders alone but must be carried out with the
co-operation, support and contribution of all to enable government
policies and programmes to be implemented successfully. Mr Tei-Larbi, who lost the election, was speaking to the Ghana
News Agency in Kumasi at the weekend. He urged supporters to be mindful of the way they celebrated the
victory and urged them to unite, live in peace and be tolerant of other
parties' views in the interest of the nation. Mr Tei-Larbi denied speculations in the Oforikrom Constituency
that he had brought his political career to an end because of his
defeat in the elections.
He said he had the capacity and expertise to address the basic
socio-economic problems such as the high rate of youth
unemployment, poor sanitary conditions in some communities and
low standard of education in the constituency. He said he would therefore contest in future elections and
appealed to his supporters to rally behind him to realize his dreams. Mr Tei-Larbi said the coming months would see the NDC
strengthening its internal structures to make it more viable in winning
the constituency seat in the next elections.
