NDC will not support independent parliamentary candidates

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not recognize any of its members who would contest as independent parliamentary candidates in election 2012.

Mr. Michael Asmah, the NDC Chairman of the Komenda-Edna-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency, said this at the launch of the parliamentary campaign of Dr. Joseph Annan, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, at Agona Abrem.

Mr. Asmah said that Dr. Annan was the only NDC aspirant mandated to contest the seat, and appealed to party supporters to vote for the aspirant and President John Mahama, NDC flag bearer, in December.

Mr. Asmah cautioned people who claim to be members of the NDC but wanted to contest the parliamentary elections as independent candidates to refrain from any such action.

Mr. Isaac Kweku Sam, Metropolitan Chief Executive for KEEA, asked party supporters to shun politicians who may entice them with money and food to vote for them.

Dr. Annan said the NDC would win election 2012 since the late President Mills left a legacy of peace, humility and unity.

He appealed to the electorate to retain him in Parliament in December to enable him to continue his good works.
