Wa, July 25, GNA - Naa Seidu Braimah, First Vice Chairman of the Upper West Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the Party would review the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) when it wins the Election 2004.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Regional Executive of the Women's Wing of the Sankofa Club of the NDC at Wa on Saturday, he said that the Government was facing problems in the implementation of the scheme because it was imposed on them.
"There were not sufficient consultations among the people to afford them the chance to express their views on how the scheme should be executed," he said.
The NDC Regional Vice Chairman said, given the present high level of poverty among the people in the Region it was clear that the majority of the people could not pay the yearly premium of 72,000 cedis.
He said Ghanaians should not make a mistake to return the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to power, adding that, they should instead vote for the NDC to get relief from their present hardships.
