The First Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asunafo North Constituency, Emmanuel Boadu Frimpong, has revealed that businesses would benefit immensely from the electricity tariff structure outlined in the party's 2024 manifesto.
Describing the NPP’s electricity tariff structure as a “game-changer” at a campaign event with the Dressmakers and Hairdressers Association in Mim in the Ahafo Region, Emmanuel Boadu Frimpong emphasised the NPP's continued support and commitment to business development which have always ensured that businesses thrive under the NPP government.
Chairman Boadu noted that businesses for many years have been paying higher electricity rates than residential users, and that, the NPP's proposed reform for businesses to pay lower or equal rates as residential users is a game-changer.
"This reform is a game changer because it will empower you to grow your businesses, create jobs, and contribute to Ghana's economic development", he told the artisans.
The NPP executive reminded the dressmakers and hairdressers of the devastating impact of "Dumsor" under the erstwhile NDC administration which pushed many artisans out of business and urged them to embrace the party's policies by giving their full support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie for the advancement of the transformation agenda.
“We all remember the havoc of dumsor under the NDC because many of you were hard hit so I am appealing to you to accept the policies of the NPP especially the electricity tariff structure policy and vote for the NPP”.
Some of the artisans in attendance acknowledged the positive impact the electricity tariff reform would have on their businesses and livelihoods and expressed their gratitude to the NPP for the proactive measures in addressing one of their long-standing concerns.
