Alex Kofi Agyekum, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Member of Parliament (MP) for Mpohor in the Western Region, has refurbished the constituency party office at a cost of GHC6,000.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr Agyekum said the office would serve as a converging point for party members to discuss pertinent issues.

He pledged to work closely with the party’s foot soldiers to increase the number of votes in the next year’s parliamentary and presidential elections.

Mr Anthony Evans Amoah, Chairman of the Constituency Chairman of Council of Elders, urged the constituents to rally behind Mr Agyekum, the parliamentary candidate and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate, to re-capture power from the National Democratic Congress.

Mr Amoah, who is a former Regional Minister, entreated the constituents not to allow wrangling to distract their focus from the efforts to retain the parliamentary seat in next year’s general election.

He called on the supporters of the party to bring new ideas on board and help in mobilising resources and so that they could undertake a door-to-door campaign to spread the message of the party to the electorate.

Mr Peter Kojo Appiah, Constituency Chairman of the Party, also pledged to support the efforts of the parliamentary candidate to retain the parliamentary seat next year and make the constituency one of the strongholds of the party.

The NPP supporters and sympathisers thronged the new party office amidst dancing to brass band music and showering praises of their MP, Mr Agyekum.
