The defeated Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East Constituency in the Volta Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Hon.Wisdom Gidisu is in court challenging the election of Hon. Gyato Michael as the Member of Parliament for the area.

The former MP is praying the honourable court to cancel at least one of the six polling centers claiming Hon Gyato Michael is a product and beneficiary of electoral fraud and irregularities.

He argued that the annulment of those six polling centers result will amount to declaring him (Wisdom Gidisu) the validly elected legislator by his constituents.

It was established on the faces of declaration sheets (pink sheets) presented to a Ho High Court by the Lawyer of Electoral Commission that there was seemingly misnomer in the December 2016 parliamentary results in about six polling centers in the Krachi East Constituency.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana which is the Second Respondent in the suit, seems to have in its possession pink sheets contrary to the ones in the custody of the disputers in court.

Prosecuting Counsel, Lawyer Anpengnuo insisted the Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty-One (14551) votes obtained by the candidate acclaimed winner by the Electoral Commission would not be same if the court upholds their plea. He said his client got Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred and Four (14504) and that the annulment of the six polling center results would throw his client in the lead as the winner.

But Counsel for the 1st respondent Lawyer Akoto Ampaw would not accept any of the excuses of the Prosecuting Counsel that the case be adjourned to allow him study the response of the Second Respondent.

The insistent and persistent refusal of Akoto Ampaw invited the attention of His Lordship Justice Eric Baah to stamp his authority by upholding the plea of the prosecuting Lawyer by adjourning the case to Monday 19 June 2017.
