The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meeting on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at different times.
The NEC meeting is scheduled as follows:

Venue: Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel
The National Council (NC) meeting is scheduled as follows:
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Venue: Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel.
Party sources say the main agenda for both meetings is the nomination by the party's Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate for the December 7, 2024, general election.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia, on Monday, July 1, 2024, formally informed the National officers of the NPP of his nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate.
The meeting, which took place at the NPP’s headquarters in Asylum Down, follows an earlier presentation of Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s nomination to the majority caucus of Parliament.
However, the nomination awaits the decision of the National Council, which is the final approving body of the NPP.
