The National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Stephen Ntim, has ordered an emergency meeting of the National Council of the party ahead of the its manifesto launch, which is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024.
This order was contained in a statement issued by the party's General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The statement indicated that the emergency meeting would take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Alisa Hotel, in Accra.
“By the order of the National Chairman, Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim, you are hereby notified that there will be an emergency National Council (NC) meeting on Friday, August 16, 2024,” part of the statement reads.
It is not clear why the NPP chairman ordered the emergency meeting, but reports indicate the meeting has to do with the launch of the party’s manifesto for the upcoming 2024 election.
It can be recalled that the flagbearer of the NPP, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, paused his campaign to focus on the manifesto launch.
