Abdul-Fatawu Adam Danjega, the Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been indefinitely suspended from his position following allegations of misconduct.
The suspension was communicated in an official letter issued by the party's Northern Regional Executive Committee.
The decision to suspend Danjega comes after his recent comments on social media and subsequent outbursts on radio and other media platforms, which the Executive Committee believes have tarnished the party's reputation.
In a statement, the Committee emphasized that Danjega’s actions violated the party’s constitution, specifically Article 4(7), which prohibits members from engaging in conduct that brings the party into disrepute.
The Northern Regional Executive Committee convened on October 12, 2024, to deliberate on the matter. After careful consideration, the Committee decided to suspend Danjega and refer the case to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
This decision was made in line with Article 4(3)(2) of the NPP’s constitution, which grants the Regional Executive the authority to invoke the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Committee in cases of severe misconduct.
The suspension is effective immediately, and Danjega is expected to cooperate fully with the disciplinary proceedings. Until the investigation is concluded and a final decision is made, he will remain suspended from his role as the Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator.
