The Brong-Ahafo Regional Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have pledged to give their votes to Mr. Freddy Blay, who is contesting the position of National Chairman of the party.
Twenty-six (26), out of the 29 constituency chairmen in the region, have also thrown their weight behind him.
Mr. Kofi Ofosu Boateng, the Regional Secretary, announced this at a press conference held in Sunyani.
This comes ahead of the party’s national delegates congress scheduled for July, in Koforidua.
Mr. Blay is the acting National Chairman and he is in the chairmanship race with two other candidates.
Mr. Boateng said they would be voting en masse for him for providing good leadership to bring the NPP back to power.
He took “the mantle of leadership of our party at a time it was in chaos”, something that was threatening to derail its electoral fortunes.
The Regional Secretary said Mr. Blay skilfully managed to restore peace and sanity - two vital factors “that eventually enabled us to organise ourselves for the landslide election victory in 2016”.
He added that the acting National Chairman’s “has an admirable track record” and that they were convinced that “he has a lot more to offer to our dear party”.
“Mr. Blay’s campaign message of re-energising the party, running efficient and well-resourced party machinery from the national to the polling stations, ensuring that party structures and organs are effectively managed resonates well with us.”
He is the right man to lead the party and we declare our total support for him.”
