NPP Takes Big-Hit In BA for Run-Off

With a few days left for the presidential run-off to take place, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Brong Ahafo region has lost one of its members to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Madam Evelyn Adarkwa-Fremah, popularly called Amatel has announced her defection from the NPP to the NDC, which she described as a winning team.

Addressing journalists at the NDC secretariat in Sunyani, Amatel said she had no problem with her former party and that her decision was purely a matter of choice.

Madam Adarkwa-Fremah was among some NPP members who vied for the Sunyani West constituency parliamentary slot on the ticket of the NPP with the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah.

She, however, was not seen again until her decision to cross carpet to the NDC.

Madam Fremah-Adarkwa, in her press statement, indicated that her withdrawal from the NPP primary was not welcome news to her followers, but kept mute on the matter.

She noted that from now onwards she would commit herself to supporting her new party's candidate, Prof. John Atta Mills to win the December 28 run-off.

“I will do all that I can to support the NDC to win the December 28 elections for the betterment of our future generation,” she remarked.

She therefore appealed to Ghanaian women to give their maximum support to Prof. Mills come December 28 to clinch victory.

Madam Fremah-Adarkwa is the proprietor of a reputable educational institution at Sunyani Dumase.
