The National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party has extended warm felicitations to the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) for successfully holding its 51st Congress in Accra.

The wing in a statement also congratulated all newly elected executives who will have the privilege of leading the student body in an ever-changing environment which requires one to be assertive and dynamic in meeting the responsibilities associated with the task of leadership.

National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Sammy Awuku stated that “It is instructive to note that, your election comes at a very exciting and crucial moment in the history of our country as several thousands of students in Ghana who would have otherwise not had the benefit of secondary education have been enrolled as a result of the Free Senior High School graciously implemented by the current New Patriotic Party Government under the sterling leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo. Thus, your successful election gives you the exclusive privilege of having to represent a vast number of students never witnessed in the history of student leadership in Ghana”.

He urged to new leadership of NUGS to commend government and also give constructive criticisms when and where necessary.

Sammy Awuku assured the new leadership that his doors are always open to them for any form of assistance that will serve the interest of students.

“On my part as National Youth leader, I wish to extend a genuine hand of friendship to you all and also state that in me, you will find a sincere and genuine ally, whose major pre-occupation will be to stand by you and work hand in hand with a view of serving the interest of students and also finding long-term solutions to the challenges facing our educational system,” he noted.
