The 3rd Vice Chair of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, FF Antoh is accusing the party’s general secretary of appointing his friends into administrative positions of the party.

He believes this is why Kwabena Agyepong is not consulting the steering committee of the party on his recent appointments.

The NPP General Secretary last week asked the party’s communications director to proceed on leave – a decision which has been met with serious discontent by some leaders and members of the party.

A press conference to explain the reasons behind the “proceed on leave directive” turned bloody as angry machete-wielding supporters threatened to kill the general secretary.

Several high-ranking members including National Committee Member of the party, Freddie Blay has accused the general secretary of running a "one-man show."

Commenting on the matter, the former Ashanti regional Chairman of the party, said Mr Agyepong appears to be getting his appointments wrong because he “fails to listen to wise council.”

“Kwabena Agyepong is appointing his friends to positions in our party. His methods of dismissals are inappropriate. He doesn’t listen to advice. He doesn’t have any power to make those appointments. He should be prepared to respect the people he is working with, he doesn’t know our party people so he can’t even make good appointments” Antoh lamented on Peace FM.
