NPP candidate urges campaign substantive on policy

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for New Edubiase has called for the party’s supporters to engage in decent political campaign, substantive on policy.

Mr. George Oduro asked that they did everything to avoid insults and inflammatory rhetoric.

Inaugurating the Adansi-Apagya youth wing in the constituency, he said everybody should act responsibly to keep the political temperature down and remove tension.

The young people had come together to move from house-to-house to carry the NPP’s campaign message to voters to win them over and wrest the constituency seat that had been held by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992.

Mr. Oduro underlined the need for political tolerance and invited all to renounce violence.

He said there should not be any reason for the people to be at each other’s throat because of political differences.

He encouraged members, supporters and sympathizers of the NPP to accept to work hard and make the necessary sacrifices to bring the party to power to restore stability to the faltering economy to make things better for the people.

Mr. Oduro urged all qualified voters to make sure that they got their names into the electoral roll during the coming limited voter registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC).

He said that was necessary to enable them to exercise their franchise in the November general elections, to change their living conditions.

The Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr. Francis Ankomah, expressed optimism about the party’s victory in the coming presidential and parliamentary polls but said they would have to work hard for it.
