Accra, April 8, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Friday said decisions on dismissals of errant members that had so far been communicated to the Party headquarters were without blemish, as they were taken in accordance with the Constitution.

However, it said, it had come to the notice of the Party that some constituencies had not followed the process prescribed by the Constitution.

"In all such cases, decisions purportedly taken are nullified," a statement signed by Mr Edmund Annan, Acting NPP General Secretary said.

"The NPP Constitution is clear on the procedures for sanctioning errant members. There are also provisions in the Constitution for members who have been sanctioned to appeal against such action," the NPP said.

It said if any Party members who had been dismissed genuinely believed that they had a case, they were at liberty to appeal. Executives of some constituencies have in the past few weeks dismissed a number of errant members who, they said, misconducted themselves with respect to party rules and regulations.
