NPP gurus in oil scandal

Worried party elders who have tired over decades to build and sustain the New Patriotic Party into a formidable political force culminating in the 2000 and more currently the 2016 epic victories may be gnashing their teeth over simmering reports on corruption afflicting the party, with the Executive ostensibly looking the other way.

According to our very discreet sources, those involved in the scandalous oil games are Acting National Chairman Feddie Blay; Hopeson Adorye, party communicator and a relative of the President (name withheld).

Interestingly, those in the centre of the scandalous controversies appear to be younger, third generation apparatchiks who in their bid to take advantage of the victory euphoria are moving heaven and earth to plunder the state in much the same way as some players who exited the last administration.

Unassailable information reaching DAYBREAK indicates that one such major scandal has to do with oil export quotas for landlocked Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin etc, which is finding its way back into the country at double profit for the perpetrators.

According to well-placed sources in the oil industry and state security sources, so serious is the allegations and the nature and volume of the deals in terms of revenue loss to the state that schedule officers in charge of loading the tankers and allocating quotas are cringing over the abuse on the part of agents of the ruling New Patriotic Party. Indeed, so disgusting is the situation that one such officer (name withheld) is threatening to blow the whistle over the deals.

Our sources reveal that these highly placed apparatchiks make calls to Customs Officers asking them for illegal supplies for export to countries like Togo and Burkina Faso. Feddie Blay for instance is said to have called such officers asking them to bend over the rules and sign for the release of fuel to a company by name DE-LINK PETROLEUM.

In the case of Hopeson Adorye, who also applies the same strategy, the company in question is AGIP.

Similarly, and also more alarming is the case about an ongoing whisper among CEPS officials at the Tema Harbour about a lady at the Nima residence of the President, who called one of the officers to the house in question and asked him to ensure that they protect the business activities of an oil company by name AGAPET. in that meeting, representative of AGAPET was present.
