The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has alluded that the NPP’s opportunity of being in office for less than 3 years has an enviable record of increasing the size of the economy which has unprecedentedly brought comfort to the Ghanaian populace.
He noted that there was the need for all well-meaning Ghanaians to ensure that the party stayed in power for several years as that was the surest way of rebuilding the nation.
‘President Nana Addo inherited a tattered economy from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and in less than 3 years, he has expanded the economy’, John Boadu told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7 in an exclusive studio interview.
He has asked the Ghanaian electorate to make a dispassionate comparison of the economic performances of the two leading political parties to propel an excellent decision to maintain the NPP in 2020.
The ruling party’s General Secretary reiterated that governance was about social inclusion, good governance, creating jobs for the people, ensuring better incomes and housing for workers, as well as consolidating the economic gains made so far, and not resorting to propaganda and deception.
‘The NPP government would continue to implement social interventions that would inure to the benefit of Ghanaians, and mentioned the port reforms, the Free Senior High School policy, reduction of the benchmark values of imports, payment of the National Health Insurance subscriptions, capitation grants, among others,’ he noted.
John Boadu, therefore, urged Ghanaians to be alert and cross-check facts, and not to rely on figures that did not have any credibility, especially when it’s coming from the NDC.
The NPP General-Secretary was of the conviction that the NDC has discredited record on the management of the economy and they could not pose credible facts to challenge the Nana Addo led government, hence they have resorted to lies and propaganda to throw the dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.
