NPP hierarchy urged to motive its foot soldiers

Kumasi, May 17, GNA - Alhaji Shamuna, Ashanti Regional Organizer of the Nasara Club, a youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to the Party's hierarchy to motivate its foot soldiers towards the party's membership drive.

He observed that with their exuberance, the youth have the ability to withstand all odds and should therefore be given all the necessary encouragement and support to enable the party win the 2008 election. He was addressing a regional membership drive meeting under the theme: "Restructuring and Re-organizing Nasara Club in Ashanti Region towards Victory in the 2008 election" in Kumasi on Friday.


Present at the meeting were Alhaji Musah Sheriff Baba, a former Ambassador to Guinea, who is currently the first national Chairman of the Club and Alhaji Muktar Bamba, former Member of Parliament for Wenchi and current National Organizer of the Club.


Also present at the meeting were the chairmen, secretaries and women organizers from the various branches of the Nasara Club in the Ashanti region.

Alhaji Baba discussed with them the mode of restructuring and organization of the club and the need for members to be committed to the cause of the NPP to retain power to send Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the Castle to continue the good work of President Kufuor.


Alhaji Bamba expressed concern about the dying spirit of members due to lack of logistics to campaign and stressed that efforts were being made to remedy the situation.


He said vehicles and motorbikes would soon be provided to assist them in their campaigns. He called for unity of purpose and understanding among members, adding that they should avoid violence and confrontations in their campaigns. Alhaji Ali Musah Zingi, the Public Relations Officer of the Club touched on the achievements of the NPP and advised members to educate the citizenry on the government's policies and programmes. 17 May 08
