Without grassroot support, there is no way a political party can make an impact in an election; let alone win. And this happens to be the problem of the New Patriotic Party. They make voters feel like “animals,” claims Mr. Kofi Apaloo.
He is the presidential candidate of the Independent Peoples Party (IPP) and feels that although the NPP is gifted with learned men and women, they currently lack strategies to win elections.
According to him, before one would be accepted and welcomed into the NPP, that fellow has to attain a certain status in society. He explains that a lot of people who claim to be part of the party are subjected to ill-treatment and were often regarded as “inferior” by the leaders of the party.
He counseled the leaders of the NPP to begin pampering and using sweet words to lure their voters if they want to forever have their votes.
“They (NPP leaders) make people feel inferior by the way they talk. They should learn how to talk like human beings… If someone happens to be a truck pusher, they hoot at him because they perceive that fellow to be an NDC member. If this should continue, the people would always continue to vote for the NDC,” he said.
