Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party and now Member of Parliament for Okere Constituency, Dan Botwe, has rubbished reports purported to have been made by him about his willingness to out-rightly oust Dr. Wereko-Brobby from the party if he had been given the authority to act on the matter.
Speaking on Okay FM, Dan Botwe distanced himself from the report but made it clear that he is in support of the decision taken by the National Executive Committee of the NPP to curb squabbling in the party.
He pointed out that although politics is about numbers, people must bear in mind that the game is about “positive numbers”.
“I believe politics is a game of positive numbers. It is just like adding negative five (-5) to positive four (+4), you would be left with negative one. Negative five is a number, but in politics you don’t just add negative number. Politics is a game of positive numbers”, he stressed.
As a former General Secretary abreast with the articles in the NPP’s constitution, Hon. Dan Botwe insisted that the decision to suspend Dr. Wereko-Brobby was a right one since their charter clearly spells out the duties of party members.
He explained that he would have acted “swifter” if given the mandate to issue the same disciplinary measure the party has taken against Dr. Wereko-Brobby.
