Techiman (B/A), Nov. 2, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government's policy of developing one model senior secondary school in each district is bad since it would mean the diversion of resources meant for many schools to the selected few.
Alhaji Gilbert Seidu Iddi, Lecturer at the University of Development Studies (UDS), told a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally at Techiman that the policy would widen the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged within the districts. He said it would have been better for the NPP to seek to bridge the gap between the current privileged and underprivileged schools in order to provide equity and give fair opportunity to all pupils, wherever they found themselves.
"Thank God, come 2005 when NDC comes to power, our sound policy would reverse the trend," he said.
