NPP presidential aspirant Apraku tours Upper East

Bawku (U/E), Jan. 30, GNA - Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, a Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to the Party's delegates to elect a candidate who could unite members and the country to achieve socio-economic development. He said the ideal leader should be a selfless person with intimate knowledge of the people's needs and aspirations. Dr Apraku made the appeal when he met NPP executives and members from all three constituencies in the Bawku municipality after a day's tour on Monday.

He said the need for a visionary leader of the Party at this stage had made him to offer himself since he was imbued with committed and devoted services to humanity.

"I see myself as a unifying body that had intimate knowledge of your dreams and that of Mother Ghana to get to the economic land of prosperity," he reiterated.

The aspirant said as someone who had been at the helm of affairs of the nation, he was well placed to push his dreams through. "I do not want power for power sake but to improve the welfare of the people". He said his wish was to leave a legacy after his Presidency for the people to say "the nation was better in Apraku's time".

"I want God, through you all, to choose the best candidate among us who has vision to further enhance the economic progress gained under President Kufuor's administration" he added.

He appealed to Party membership to allow peaceful co-existence to prevail so they could redouble their efforts toward victory in the next general election. with all stories used.
