Mr. John Dramani Mahama, running mate to Professor John Evans Atta Mills, flag bearer of the NDC said on Tuesday that despite the failure of the NPP, it still continued to give more Utopian promises which it could not fulfill.
Mr. Mahama was speaking at Fadama and Abeka Zongo, all in Accra where he presented 100 bags of sugar and 20 bags of rice each to the Muslim communities in the areas.
He said the food items were to help the Muslims to break their fast during the Ramadan.
The items were received by Sheikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Chief Imam and Sheikh Umaru, Imam of Ahlisuna in separate ceremonies.
Mr. Mahama asked the media to tell the government the true conditions of the people because “it seemed the NPP government has lost touch with the reality”.
He said, if the government knew the wretched conditions of the people, it would not be shocked when it loses power in December.
The continued promises that the NPP was making in its campaign should be enough to tell the people that they had failed them.
Mr. Mahama said the NDC would always apply humility and truth in its campaign and even in government.
Mr. Mahama said, although the Electoral Commission seemed to have been overburdened, it could as well extend a proxy voting to about 4000 pilgrims that would be in Mecca during the period of the December elections.
