NPP’s manifesto silent on corruption and state capture – Ablakwa

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for their silence on corruption and state capture in their manifesto.

Ablakwa emphasized the need for a new kind of leadership that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption measures. He questioned the NPP’s commitment to transparency, pointing out their complicity in corruption.

“The NPP manifesto is virtually silent on corruption and state capture. What do you expect? They are as guilty as sin, so complicit, and they’re very dumb.” Mr. Ablakwa stated on the GHOne TV State of Affairs show with Lantam Papanko.

“87% of contracts were awarded for private reasons, only 13% were competitive. This is unacceptable.” He added some statistics on cocoa road contracts.

He challenged the NPP’s claim of digitalization, saying, “They’re not all the same. We need a leadership that eschews corruption, prioritizes transparency, and ensures accountability.”

“The NPP government campaigned vigorously against single sourcing abuse, claiming it was around 30-40%. Now that, we’re talking it is about 87%,” Ablakwa revealed.

Ablakwa also exposed the Vice President’s brother, the Director of Resource Access Living, for benefiting from single-sourcing contracts, saying, “He seemed to give him two singles.”

On state capture, Ablakwa stated, “It’s a matter that has totally worsened under their (NPP) leadership.”
