The Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea has said that he is sad for Alan Kyerematen.

He is of the view that if Alan Kyerematen who he describes as a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party had stayed in the political party, he would have been chosen as the running mate.

Nana Akomea was addressing the fact that third parties do not have a place in Ghana’s politics.

“He’s a stalwart in the political party. If he had stayed, this issue about running mate would have been settled,” he said.

On whether a third force will work in Ghana he said “If you look at the third parties, the system doesn’t encourage third parties. Our system in this country is first to pass the post and from the results of the election garnered by third parties. I don’t know why these gentlemen bother themselves.”

The 2024 elections will have several Independent candidates and small political parties as these persons seek to change the order. Alan Kyerematen is leading the Movement for Change which has currently formed an Alliance with Abu Sakara.
