Campaign lead for John Dramani Mahama, Prof. Joshua Alabi, has noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is using fear as a strategy going into the 2024 elections.

He says the governing NPP's strategy seems to be affecting members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) so much that some even think they cannot win the 2024 elections.

Prof. Alabi has urged members of his political party not to be afraid because "there is nothing special about the New Patriotic Party, and there is nothing they can do."

"Sometimes, I've been monitoring the platforms and what people say. What I read is that our opponent has succeeded in pumping fear into our people, and to some extent, some of them think that it is not possible for us to win; it is a strategy.

NDC was in power for eight years, they came for eight years, and we came for eight years. They are in their eighth year, so what makes them special? We sit and hear Akufo-Addo wants to do something, this man wants to do something, if we don't do this... Look, it is fear. Let's focus on our jobs, work as we have always been working, protect the ballot box, and whoever says he will not hand over power will be the first to run away from the country," he said.

According to Prof. Alabi, people who always shout that they won't hand over power are cowards, adding that they wield no power to execute what they say.
