NPP supporters urged to acquaint themselves with manifesto

Sabronum (Ash), Nov 1, GNA - Mr Stephen Kwaku Balado Manu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo-Ano South, has called on New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters to acquaint themselves with the Party's manifesto for the year 2000 and the achievements of the NPP.

The MP, who was interacting with NPP supporters at Sabronum at the weekend, said such knowledge would enable them to confidently refute the lies being peddled by the opposition parties, particularly the National Democratic congress (NDC).

He advised the supporters not to be complacent but to tolerate the views of their political opponents, avoid insults and work hard to win more sympathisers for the Party.

Mr Manu said: "Even in the face of provocation, you should exercise maturity and restraint. In their desperation your opponents are likely to resort to tricks, insults and violence but we should not play into their hands".

He urged the supporters to remain focused and aim at ensuring a massive victory for the NPP in the Presidential and the Parliamentarian elections to avoid any second round.

The MP appealed to the chiefs and the people to ensure that the 2004 Election was peaceful and devoid of violence. He said the Government had taken a serious view of the concerns of the people and would undertake electrification and road projects to enhance economic activities in the town.

Mr Thomas Otchere, a Polling Station Chairman of the Party at Sabronum, commended the Government for executing reforestation project in the town.

Nana Tabi Gyansah, a Sub-Chief of Sabronum, lauded the MP for his contribution to the development of the town and appealed to the Government to tar the Fawoman-Sabronum road to facilitate the development of the area.

He also urged the authorities to ensure that Sabronum was connected to the National electricity Grid, to encourage economic activities to curb the rural-urban migration by the youth in the area.
