Dunkwa-On-Offin (C/R), June 24, GNA - Mr Dan Botwe, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Wednesday said the Party would spend more than 150 million cedis on the bye-election in the Upper Denkyira constituency scheduled for June 29.
He said the money would be used for the purchase of party paraphernalia, preparation of sample ballot papers, training of polling agents and electioneering campaign.
Mr Botwe announced this at a meeting with the NPP Upper Denkyira constituency polling station chairmen and agents at Dunkwa-On-Offin to consider arrangements made towards the bye-election.
The bye-election became necessary following the death of Mr Charles Omar Nyanor, popularly called C.O Nyanor, Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency.
Mr Botwe expressed satisfaction with the arrangements so far made and urged the agents to be vigilant during the election to ensure credible results.
He said, "Despite the many successes chalked by the NPP it would not take chances. The Party would work harder to enable it win and win well in both the bye-election and the 2004 General Election."

He noted that the constituency formed the bedrock for the success of every political party and urged NPP members to work hard at that level to ensure victory for the Party.
Mr Botwe said the NPP would win the bye-election because Ghanaians appreciate the good works of the government, and cited that it had promoted education and improved the cocoa industry.
