A member of the communications team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mallam Yussif Issah Gane has accused the erstwhile Kufuor’s government of turning defunct Ghana Airways into a chop bar (restaurant).

He claimed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) succeeded in collapsing the once vibrant airline.

According to him, the dysfunctional Ghana Airways has been turned into an eatery joint.

Speaking on Ultimate fm’s Fact File hosted by Julius Caesar Anadem, he claimed the Kufuor’s administration misused the Euro bond that was acquired for repairing of the country’s railways.

‘They promised to extend the rail line to the North and even to Cote D’Ivoire, they went for Euro bond in 2005 and told us they would spend some of the money in repairing our railways, what did they do. They collapsed our railways totally, today as I am talking if you see a man coming out of Ghana Airways with tooth pick; it is not that he is coming from London.

The NPP and its cronies were able to turn Ghana Airways into a chop bar. They succeed in turning Ghana Airways into a chop bar. It is a chop bar now, what is the difference between a chop bar and a restaurant.

It would be dangerous to give them the mandate, looking at the unprecedented failure of the NPP, even their Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) collapsed in their own care. These are the people who are looking for our mandate. That we should trust this nation into their care,’ he alleged.

He called on the electorate to retain President Mahama who he described as the reincarnation of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah by voting against the NPP.

‘It is very dangerous to give Nana Addo the mandate. What I see in his Excellency John Dramani Mahama is the reincarnation of Nkrumah in him and if we are able to continue with his mandate, I am telling you, Ghana is going to be a different place all together. Juxtapose this against the massive infrastructural development that the NDC is doing, Komenda Sugar factory has been revived. Cast your mind to Kejetia the development that is ongoing there ’ he said.
