The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given assurance to Ghanaians that it remains focused and united in its “reorganization process” to return to power in 2016.

A statement issued after the party's regional executive elections held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 said the party is in good shape “and preparing to be in a better shape”.

“No volumes of poisonous propaganda can hide the truth…,” the statement signed by Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, the Party’s National Chairman, pointed out.

It congratulated members for the “spirit of fairness” in organizing the elections across the country.

“The peaceful manner with which some 5,000 delegates elected some 100 executives across the ten regions of the country is a clear indication that the NPP is a united force and is ready to wrestle power from the NDC in our quest to bring back hope to the Ghanaian suffering from the worsening conditions of living imposed on them by the John Mahama led NDC government,” it stated.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey by the statement asked newly elected executives to reach out and bring every member and supporter of the party “in our efforts towards a strong and effective campaign for a clear and resounding victory in 2016.”

“For those who lost, we wish you better luck next time and, more importantly, we urge you to stay fully engaged in our efforts to reorganise the party for the general elections of 2016.”

Following the organization of the regional elections, NPP will next shift attention towards the national executive elections scheduled to come off March 1.
