Solomon Owusu, Senior Communicator of the Movement for Change, claims the recent arrest of protesters by the police is an agenda by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to divert the attention of the masses from the galamsey fight.

During a discussion on TV3’s New Day about the arrest of protesters, Solomon Owusu mentioned that the protesters will be released soon.

“This whole persecution is being done with the assistance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). They are the ones pushing this whole agenda to divert the attention of the general public from the galamsey menace,” he alleged.

He emphasized that these protesters will not die in police custody because the government knows that if any harm befalls any of these arrested protesters, there will be chaos.

“Nobody will die; they will come out and still continue the fight. Some of us are planning an operation to end the foolishness on the 11th of November when we will enter the forest,” he hinted.

“We don’t want to be in Accra; we want to enter the forest and let the galamseyers kill us. It’s better to die for a just cause than sit here and die from drinking poison,” Solomon Owusu emphasized.
