The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned its members, especially communicators, against indecorous conducts in public, particularly on media platforms.

According to the NPP, it would not hesitate to sanction members who go contrary to the new guidelines, as part of efforts to sanitize the party’s communication structure.

“The Regional Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party in Brong-Ahafo wishes to sternly caution all party communicators and its general membership against flagrantly disregarding the party’s constitution on proper and decorous conduct in public mostly on-air discussions and contributions.”

This was contained in a press release signed by the Regional Secretary, Alfred Ofori Annye, and copied to DAILY GUIDE on Friday.

“The secretariat will not hasten to invoke the constitutional stipulations under Article 7 and all other relevant provisions therein to enforce discipline and generally acceptable conduct in the discharge of assigned rules and duties, which provisions are as follows; violation of the duties of a member; violent, dangerous or intimidating conduct against another member; breach of the duty to uphold publicly party policies; creation of discord or factionalism within the party and bringing the name of the party into disrepute or public ridicule,” the statement further indicated.

Mr. Annye further explained to DAILY GUIDE that the new directive stemmed from the recent appalling conducts exhibited by some party communicators who attacked some respected party functionaries during radio discussions in Sunyani.
