Executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in seventeen (17) constituencies within the Northern Region have served notice that, the party is heading to a crash if the current Regional Chairman, Adam Baantima Samba is removed.
At a press conference held in Tamale on Monday, the group observed that there are machinations by some faceless individuals for Chairman Samba to be removed warning that any attempt to go on such a path will mean pressing an automatic destruction button.
They said, “We voted massively for Chairman Samba to help us retain our seats and win more. Chairman Samba has so far fulfilled most of his campaign promises and we are certain he is on the right path to achieving our desires in the Region”.

The Northern Regional Chairmen Caucuses and on behalf of all (17) Constituency Executives each of the Newly created Northern Region, would like to reiterate our support and endorsement for the stay of the current Northern Regional Chairman, Adam Baantima Samba. We are by this urgent press conference reaffirming our long held conviction to support our able Regional Chairman to lead us into 2020 elections.
We have lived with Chairman Samba in the Region for the past 36 years and counting and believes he is capable and competent to handle the Region into the next crucial election.
We voted massively for Chairman Samba to help us retain our seats and win more. Chairman Samba has so far fulfilled most of his campaign promises and we are certain he is on the right path to achieving our desires in the Region.
We as Constituency Executives would like to appeal to our respected National Executive Council, to listen to our plea as custodians of the constituencies so we can sustain and improve our fortunes in the Northern Region. We voted for our Chairman because we believe he can. The Chairman has in his few weeks in office sustained and maintained the otherwise unstable Region. He has managed to heal more wounds and brought a lot onboard who were left out for obvious reasons.
We appeal for calm and cooperation as we dialogue consistently with our Regional Chairman to patch up the few hitches before the upcoming 2020 elections.
