NPP will implement its free education policy to the letter- Asamoah-Boateng

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will implement the free education policy to the letter ensuring universal and quality education for all, parliamentary candidate for Mfantsiman West, Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng has stated.

Speaking at the weekend, he said, electorate should in that regard come out and vote massively for the NPP in December to turn the fortunes of the country round and bring hope to the ordinary citizen.

Mr. Asamoah-Boateng was speaking at the launch of Dr. Ato Arthur’s campaign in his bid to contest the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) at the Marine Park at Elmina.

Mr. Asamoah-Boateng was optimistic that Dr. Arthur would win the seat massively because his works were well known in the constituency.

This is the second time Dr. Arthur is contesting for the seat. His first attempt was in 2008 when he lost to Dr. Joseph Samuel Annan, the current MP and the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.

Speaker after speaker enumerated the good policies of the former President Kufuor administration, which they said brought smiles to Ghanaians and indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government had made ridicule all the good interventions.

Among those they mentioned were the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which they noted had almost collapsed, the National Youth Employment and the School Feeding Programmes.

Those, who spoke include Mr. Agyemang Kesse, former KEEA Constituency chairman of the Party, Mr. Appiah Korang, the current constituency chairman and Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin North.

Mr. Ohene Agyapong promised that the repair of the damaged Elmina bridge that links the castle and the fish market and other surrounding areas would be a topmost priority under NPP Government and called on all Ghanaians to vote against the ruling NDC.

Dr. Ato Arthur pledged to be an ardent advocate for the people in the constituency when voted into Parliament and reminded them of the numerous projects he initiated as the District Chief Executive for KEEA, Deputy Minister and later as the Regional Minister.

Projects he cited include the Elmina 2015 vision which saw the renovation of houses of historic importance and the promotion of partnership of KEEA and Gouda City.

Dr. Arthur called on the people to vote massively for him as well as the presidential candidate of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo to continue to implement his vision of bringing socio-economic growth to the area and the country at large.
