NPP wins Mpraeso seat

Mpraeso, Dec. 8, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won both the presidential and parliamentary elections in Mpreaso constituency by polling 16,829 votes, representing 66.52 percent as against the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which had 7,950 votes. The People's National Convention (PNC) had 105 votes; the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), 60 votes, the Democratic People's Party (DPP) 21 votes, Convention People's Party (CPP) 180 votes, Reformed Patriotic Democrat (RPD) 21 votes and Independent candidate 50 votes. In the Parliamentary elections, Mr Seth Kwame Acheampong of the NPP polled 17,479 votes representing 68.63 percent to win the seat, while Mr Kwame Asante of PNC had 355 votes and Dr Seth Koranteng of the NDC 7,549 votes. Mr Appiah Agyemang, Kwahu South District Electoral Officer, certified the result.
