Naa Braimah retained as Council of State Member for U/W

Naa Seidu Bhat Braimah, Chief of Guli in the Wala Traditional Area has been retained as Upper West Region’s representative in the Council of State.

He polled 13 votes at the Council of State election, which was conducted by officials of the Upper West regional office of the Electoral Commission at Wa on Wednesday.


The other two contestants, Naa John Domalae, Paramount Chief of the Daffiama Traditional Area in the Nadowli District and Kuoro Baracheh Nlowie, Chief of Niator in the Sissala West District polled eight votes and one vote respectively.

Naa Braimah was first elected to the Council in 2009 when the National Democratic Congress took over power from the New Patriotic Party.


The region forms an electoral college of 22 persons who are elected from its eleven municipal and district assemblies for the election.
