for his monarch seat of Suame

Information from close a confidants of Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has stated that If not for Nana the monarchical seat of Suame MP, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu would have been lost if they had allowed some constituency members to contest him in 2012.

The source said as per the permutations of election watchers, if the candidates from the party had been allowed to contest him his dream of becoming a legislator once again would have been a solemn catastrophe for him.

The source said the entourage that he Osei Kyei Mensah is complaining about was part of the team which helped him win his so called Monarch seat, so if he’s still an MP he should thank Nana Addo and his entourage.

According to the source, Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsus constituency members said he has gained the necessary exposure and experience that to his advantage but has not positioned himself very well to deliver on his mandate to his constituency.

The source lamented that all these years that he has spent in Parliament as the representative of the constituents of Suame has brought no improvement to the area.

The Nana Addo source said over the years, the MP has had it easy because he has never faced any tough competition the elections. This, the source believed caused the MP to become complacent and think that the people are being convinced by his performance to keep retaining him in Parliament.

Speaking to another delegate in his constituency, he said whilst some MPs are employing positive developmental agendas in transforming their constituencies and yet for twelve years under the leadership of Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Suame is yet to see any sign of innovative strategies and ideas from him for implementation to benefit the people. But if not for Nana Addo who came to speak to them they would have given him a show down.

The source said they decided to come out because of the Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, recent remarks attributed to him in a so-called secret tape recording, have not gone down well with them since it has the tendency to destroy Nanas campaign before and after the presidential elections.

The source said virtually from the look of things it was Nana who made The Minority Leader a member of parliament because the people in his constituency were fed up with him, so they were surprised that he would criticize people close to the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for displaying extravagant lifestyle in the run-up to the 2012 elections whilst they came der to help him.

The secret audio recording currently in circulation, the Minority Leader alleged that some people around Nana Addo spent lavishly during the campaign when the candidate was modest.

“…Akufo-Addo sleeps in a private residence anytime he visits Kumasi. Apart from some people who cook for him, most of the people follow him because of other interests when it comes to the Ashanti Region,” and that a coterie of followers of Nana Addo went to sleep at the Golden Tulip Hotel at the cost of $90,000.

He was also reported to have said on the tape that the vuvuzelas imported for the campaign cost $1.5 million.

A discussion he has defended and stated that it was held in his office with about 40 MPs and explained that he was only expressing his opinion about how to make the best of the resources available for the campaign machinery of the New Patriotic Party.
