Saltpond (C/R), Nov 5, GNA - Mr George Mireku Duker, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem has urged Ghanaians not to worry about President John Agyekum Kufuor's exit from the presidency in January next year since the NPP has found a replacement in Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo. Mr Duker, who addressed separate rallies at Saltpond and Mankessim, said Nana Akufo Addo was capable of building the super structure on the solid foundation laid by President Kufuor. "Nana Akufo Addo is the one to lead Ghana to the Promised Land", he stated and urged the electorate to rally behind him. The rallies were organized to officially launch the campaign machinery in the Mfantseman West constituency. Mr James Denis Ehuren, Constituency Chairman appealed to supporters to bury their differences and rally behind the party's parliamentary candidate to enable him to retain the seat.

Dr Kobena Arthur Kennedy, Communications Director of the party's Presidential Campaign Team said the NPP government had done a good work to justify its retention in power and appealed to the electorate to vote massively for it.

Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive said the signs of the NPP's victory in the December poll was beckoning people from other parties to defect to the winning party. He appealed to supporters to welcome defectors and give them the necessary help.

Okatakyi Ward, an NDC defector said his former party's third position on the ballot paper meant its third defeat in general elections in December. Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister of Information and National Orientation and MP for the area enumerated his achievements, which include upgrading water and electricity supply, payment of health insurance premium needy people, award of scholarship to over 300 students to further their vocational and apprenticeship. Others include reconstruction and tarring of roads in Anomabo, Saltpond, Mankessim and the Birawa drainage system to avert flooding at Yamoransa as well as the construction of a number of schools.
