Nkwanta, July 25, GNA - Mr Joseph Kwaku Nayan, the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, has said the experience of being "politically orphaned" and wallowing in opposition could be disgusting and urged NPP members to avoid losing political power in the next general elections. He reminded participants at separate delegates conferences at Nkwanta and Kpassa in the Nkwanta South and Nkwanta North constituencies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta Region that the worst thing in the business of party politics was to remain in opposition, imploring them to work harder to avoid it.

Mr Nayan them to revisit the drawing board and correct all bottlenecks that militated against the party winning more seats in the region in the last elections and commit all resources towards breaking the invincibility of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region. He urged the public to take keen interest in local level elections because it was the fulcrum around which the country's democratisation revolved.

Mr Joseph Denteh, the Nkwanta District Chief Executive, appealed to party supporters to stop the blame game and to work hard. He condemned the phenomenon of "pull-him-down syndrome" which, he said, would only disintegrate their ranks and give advantage to their opponents. 25 July 06
