The New Juaben Municipality has so far recorded over 99,000 registered voters in the on-going biometric registration exercise which ends on May 5.
The Municipality has two political constituencies; the New Juaben North and South, both currently occupied by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Ms Lydia Agyiri, Municipal Electoral Officer, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Koforidua on Wednesday.
She said the exercise had been successful except for few technical hitches, which were experienced at the initial stages in some areas.
Ms Agyiri said the projected figure for the Municipality was not less than 120,000 prospective voters at the end of the exercise on Saturday.
She attributed the success of the exercise to the total collaboration of the representatives of all the political parties especially, the two major parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for cooperating with the Electoral Commission (EC).
Ms Agyiri however admitted that, some of the EC officers were computer-challenged at the initial stages, which slowed down the process, but when a review workshop was organised for them to sharpen their skills, they improved significantly.
She said people who moved from their original polling station to register at a different polling station would be compelled to vote at that centre during the election in December and other subsequent elections.
Ms Agyiri assured the political parties and all stakeholders that the EC would ensure that the exercise ends successfully.
She also commended the Police for helping to make the exercise run smoothly and urged them not to relent on their efforts to make the entire process incident free.**
