Nii Akomfra for CPP General Secretary

Young Nkrumaist Movement (YNM) would like to support Nii Akomfra in his bid for the office of General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party.

Nii Akomfra who has held several high positions within the party in its various forms is the current chairman of the CPPUK. As chairman of the UK and Ireland branch, Nii Akomfra has proven to all how competent and diligent he is in running the affairs of the branch. His leadership of the branch has transformed the fortunes of the Party in the United Kingdom, impacting on the mother party in Ghana. Under Nii Akomfra’s leadership, the UK & Ireland Branch has become one of the most organised and efficient branches of any political party; with annual programs and reports, ushering in an era of modern methods and trends, including regular monthly meetings, the national party website, the UK & Ireland website, Face book and Twitter sites for branch and mother party, a formidable communication and media strategy, fighting and defending the cause of the CPP for many years on radio and TV in the Diaspora. The branch also boasts an effective mechanism for active membership recruitment and collection of membership dues. Nii Akomfra’s blueprint for his campaign is a perfect remedy for CPP’s revival. . As General Secretary, Nii Akomfra will seek to improve communications between the head office, regions, constituencies and wards including overseas branches. He will create an annual programme for all branches, including regular meetings at all levels of the party aimed mainly at giving greater participation and influence to ordinary members of the party at the grass root level. Nii Akomfra will forge links with other progressive groups and associations at home and abroad to further improve the image and enhance reputation of the CPP. Nii Akomfra will seek to intensify recruitment drive for all Ghanaians, particularly the youth and women. Nii Akomfra as General Secretary of the CPP will introduce measures such as the online registration initiative introduced by the UK branch under his leadership, to respond swiftly to those who seek membership of the CPP. Such calls have always been unheeded at the national level as the current leadership lacks the mechanisms to take care of membership recruitment and registration. Nii Akomfra will also employ social networks to get the CPP message to Ghanaians both at home and abroad. Nii Akomfra will not be an armchair and desk General Secretary; he will be visible at the lorry parks, market places and all over preaching the CPP message and working hard for CPP. He will be in the trenches with ordinary members to fight CPP’s cause as evidenced during a recent CPP market outreach with some members of the youth wing. The current leadership has been unable to hold to task the NPP and NDC. General Secretary Nii Akomfra will hold the NPP and NDC to task for the sake of the CPP and the entire Ghanaian population. He has done it for CPPUK by the representing the party on radio and TV programs and he is going to do it for CPP national.

CPP needs ‘Hope and Renewal’, Nii Akomfra is bringing that ‘Hope and Renewal’ and we urge delegates to vote massively for him in the upcoming national congress.
