Nkoranza (B/A), Oct. 29, GNA - Mr. Owusu Baffoe, NDC Chairman of Nkoranza South constituency has commended members of the Party in the area for their commitment and faithfulness in spite of their defeat in the last two general elections.
Speaking at a meeting of members in both Nkoranza North and South constituencies, he urged them to remain firm behind the party and vote massively for it in the 2008 general election to enable the party to regain power.
Mr. Baffoe noted that the defeat of NDC in the 2000 and 2004 elections had somehow helped the leadership of the Party to do serious home work and correct mistakes.
"It is now an open secret that most Ghanaians who voted for the NPP have regretted in view of the continued high cost of living conditions in the country", he said.
Mr. James Opoku-Worae, NDC 2004 Parliamentary candidate, urged the members to emulate the late Akua Achiaa, a selfless and staunch member of the party in the area who passed away recently. Mr. Evans Osei-Worae, Nkoranza South Constituency Organiser, announced that the NDC would maintain Mr. Opoku-Worae as the party's candidate for the 2008 parliamentary elections.
