...NPP Supporters warn
A number of NPP activists at Shai Osudoukou Constituency in the Dangbe East District of Greater Accra who sympathies with the Deputy Minister of women and Children Affairs, Mr. Daniel Dugan, last Wednesday stormed NPP headquarters to registered their indignation and protest against what they termed as ‘orchestrated attempt by some people to block the deputy minister from being a parliamentary candidate in the constituency
According to the protesters about Mr. Dugan and Ms Gloria Akuffo, Minister for Aviation were vetted by the by the party to contest to for primaries for the Shai Osudoukou Constituency. However after vetting Hon. Ms. Gloria Akuffo who contested on the ticket of the NPP but lost the seat to NDC decided to step down leaving Dugan as the sole candidate. “But instead of the party to fix a date and declare Dugan by an acclamation some insiders decided to work against him,” The paper heard.
The Group therefore warned that it would not take kindly or sIt down aloof for anybody to twist the facts and deprived them of a man who hold the keys to defeat NDC in the constituency.
According to the protesters, they were made to understand during the primaries of the last elections which saw Dugan withdrawing his candidature to allow Gloria to contest that, anytime she would also quit or step down, Dugan could also go solo.
They noted that as soon as Gloria decided to step down, some constituency executives who support her started playing mischief JUST to get Dugan banned from contesting the seat.
They pointed out Mr.Hans Nartey, the constituency organizer as one of the people who went round to writing malicious letters to malign Dugan for no offence committed The Supporter therefore appealed to the NPP gurus to call Nartey to order and investigate his activities in the constituency since he was gaining notoriety creating confusing in the constituency which worked against even his own pal Gloria during last elections.
They vowed to exposed Nartey to the world if he does not turn a new leaf. All efforts to get both Dugan and Gloria to react to the concerns of the people proved futile How NPP leadership assured the demonstrators that their request would be treated with all seriousness.
