Mr. Julius Debrah, Eastern Regional Minster, has urged public sector workers to remain objective in their official endeavours devoid of party politics.

“It is a fact that everybody belongs to a certain political party, but that should not affect your relationship with others as far as official work is concerned, because governments will come and go, but public institutions will remain.”

Mr. Debrah made the call when he addressed staff of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) at his first official meeting with them in Koforidua on Tuesday.

He advised that players in the public sector must embrace every programme and policy that is initiated by any ruling government, adding that, they must rally behind it for the betterment of the country.

The Regional Minister expressed worry about the perception that the public sector is inefficient and inactive, saying, “this can change when workers learn to live in harmony, respect and appreciate people they come into contact with.”

“Once clients walk out of your office satisfied, they carry a good image about you,” he added.

Mr. Debrah assured the staff that his doors were always opened to them to offer suggestions that would help move the regional administration forward.

He, however, cautioned that opening up to them did not mean they should take undue advantage to put him in the centre of blackmailing, back-biting and gossiping about others.
