Security personnel who could not vote in the Special Voting exercise in the Ho Central Constituency on Thursday have threatened to vote on December 7 before assuming duty post.
They accused the Electoral Commission of deliberately omitting their names from the special voting list and said nothing could prevent them from exercising their constitutional rights in the 2016 general election.
The personnel, mostly police officers, claimed they registered in the Constituency and submitted their names for the special voting but could not find their names on the list.
A good number of the personnel said they travelled from other parts of the country for the exercise only to be told that they could not vote because their names were not on the list.
At the Denu Police Station Polling Centre in the Ketu South Constituency, about 56 security persons could not find their names on the Special Voters list.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police Nana Asamoah Hinneh, Deputy Volta Regional Police Commander in an interview with the Ghana News Agency as part of "GNA Tracks Election 2016" project funded by GOIL, said the Command was yet to receive official report but was monitoring the exercise and taking necessary actions to address the situation.
